Traditional Music Ministry
Music is central to Catholic worship, and St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral has a tradition of vibrant, active and multi-faceted music ministry. Congregational singing and participation is strongly encouraged and fostered, and music selection is consistent throughout the various masses, so that members of the parish become familiar with the core songs of our church. St. Mary’s Choir has led the music for 9:15 Sunday liturgies and special services throughout the year, with the addition of strings, woodwinds, and brass at Christmas and Easter. Other Sunday liturgies are generally led by a cantor and an organist/pianist except for the 6:00 p.m. Sunday Life Teen Mass, which is led by the Life Teen music group.
